GLASSPORT HIGH SCHOOL

SNIPPITS

This page is a pictorial history of all who were seniors and graduated from GHS between 1908 and 1966. It also includes the faculty and administration of the high school during these years as well as the Boards of Directors during this time. All of the material was taken from the yearbooks between those years.

The first yearbook was produced in 1921. It was called the Crystal Ball. The second yearbook was published in 1924. It was called the GLAHISEAN, which is short for the GLAssport HIgh SEnior ANnual.

The list of graduates during the years 1908 - 1920, 1922-1923, 1925 - 1932 was compiled from the list of alumni in the Glahisean of 1936. Junior and Sophomore Class pictures of the Crystal Ball of 1921 show some of the Seniors of 1922 and 1923. Junior and Sophomore Class pictures of the Glahisean of 1924 show some of the Seniors of 1925 and 1926.

From 1933 - 1966, the Glahisean was produced every year. In all cases, the seniors are shown and identified. The Faculty, Administration and School Board are also shown in most of the school years.

This page is dedicated to all of the graduates of the Glassport School System, as well as the falculty, administration and directors during those years. This represents 59 years of Glassport School History.

Faculty

This page contains a list of the faculty of Glassport High School as obtained from its yearbooks from 1921-1966. The years 1922-1923 and 1925-1932 are missing, either because no yearbooks were produced during those years or because they were not located. The years indicted in the columns of the page are the year of the yearbook. In some cases, tenure of the faculty was not continuous.

If a teacher served on the faculty over seven years, a picture is included near the beginning of his or her tenure and near the end of it. In all cases the picture year refers to the yearbook year. All tenure at Glassport High School ended in 1966, with the transfer of the school district to South Allegheny.

Administration

This page contains a list of the administration of Glassport High School as obtained from its yearbooks from 1921-1966. The years 1922-1923 and 1925-1932 are missing, either because no yearbooks were produced during those years or because they were not located. The years indicted in the columns of the page are the year of the yearbook.
